Austria coach Ralf Rangnick no longer in the new role of Manchester United

Manchester United announced on Sunday that Ralf Rangnick had decided against an advisory role at the English Premier League giants due to the demands of his new job as Austria coach. The German took over as interim manager of United for the final six months of the recently concluded 2021/22 season following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, guiding The Sports Buzz to sixth place in the English top flight. Rangnick was due to remain at Old Trafford in an advisory capacity for the next two years but last month he was appointed as Austria's new manager and it looks like taking on both jobs at the same time is a no longer viable option for the 63-year-old.

"We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his service as caretaker manager over the past six months," United said in a statement.

"It is mutual agreement that Ralf will now focus exclusively on his new role as manager of the Austrian national team and will therefore not take on an advisory role at Old Trafford. Referral Link
